233/6 OLD MODS’ 1st XI vs Barwick in Elmet 234/5

Match Type: Wetherby League - Fred Fleetwood Cup
Result: LOST

MODS' CUP DREAMS ARE OVER

Despite a very solid batting performance by the Mods', Barwick ran out comfortable winners with eleven balls to spare in this 40 over per side cup final.

On an excellent batting wicket, missed catches proved the difference between the two sides. That Mods' dropped as many as they did (6 by most estimates) could be attributed to the murky light but whatever the reason, as with most matches, if they had been taken, the story could have been completely different.

Congratulations to Jimmy and his team for reaching the final and providing a lot of Sunday entertainment en route. The fans (and there are plenty) appreciate their efforts.
